Holiday (short) Hair
It always makes me chuckle when y’all ask how I do my hair considering most of the time I look like a swamp monster or some kind of zombie from the walking dead. BUT I have recently received an odd number of requests about how I style my new short do so here we are. I find when I have short hair if I don’t actually take the time to do it, it truly looks terrible. I will often spend a little more time getting ready, at least if I shower, to make it worth my while. I have found some super easy (and quick) styles that work for my new lob and hope at least a few of you will find this helpful LOL. Because let’s face it we all want to feel cute for those holiday parties. Let’s do it!
Style numero uno is my go to when I want to wear my hair down but don’t feel like doing a full curl job on my entire head (which is always). It is basically a fake crimp hack with my hair straightener and it is SO easy. Takes about 8 minutes from start to finish. I do this in three sections to ensure I get my entire head. Also sounds counter active but I give each section a quick straighten to smooth it all out before I do the crimp. Once your straightener is nice and hot just wave it down your hair holding it for a quick second every inch and a half or so (if this makes no sense watch my reel, I promise it is so easy!). Once each section has been done you are good to go! Looks a little 90s chic but that’s what it is all about right now, am I right?
Next on the docket is another easy one. You could do this with a scrunchie, hair tie or clip but I am living for the claw clips so that is what I usually use. Pull all your hair back and simply clip or tie it up relatively low on your head. Doesn’t need to be super neat, just pull it all back. Then pull forward a few front chunks of hair. All you are going to do then is simply curl your front pieces with your hair straightener. Tip for using your straightener as a curler is always curl away from your face. I usually just have two little pieces to curl on each side. Give it a little shake and voila, a cute, relaxed up-do. Again this will all make sense if you watch my reel on the gram.
Last but not least I love a double bun (low or high but sometimes the space buns can be a bit much so left it classy for the holidays). Part your hair down the middle and use your fingers to create an even part down the back of your head so you have two even bits of hair on either side. I simply twist my hair into little balls and add a scrunchie (bonus points if it they are Chelsea King thins, they are my go to!). Once both sides are done and even, simply give them a little pull the ensure they are relaxed and comfortable (unless you want that pull back tight for that fake facelift look, all the power to ya babe).
And there you have it! Those are my three go to short hair looks. Head over to the gram and check out how I did these IRL and let me know if you try any of them! Happy Holidays to everyone except for all the people who didn’t chop off all their hair before the holidays and don’t need to know how to style their short hair (JUST KIDDING). Love you ALL!
