I think it is only appropriate to kick off any blog launching this year with some sort of honourable, or should I say dishonourable, mention of Covid-19. It has without question impacted something, or everything, in our lives. For the purposes of this post, I’ll stick to fashion. Let’s talk about how seriously this has altered what we consider fashion ‘essentials’ this year. If this year has taught us anything, it is that comfort is king and that tie-dye has made a serious comeback. I know this year has taught us many actually valuable things like how important it is to relax, reset and spend time with loved ones. Don’t get your panties in a wad, but again let us for now stick to fashion chit chat.

Owning a clothing boutique during all of this has been an interesting and challenging experience to say the least, but one thing is for sure we’ve seen an insane response to anything comfy and I am here for it! Rounding out my very favourite in Covid style essentials are Smash & Tess rompers (can I get a hallelujah), matching sets - seriously matching sets are giving me life - and all the oversized sweats we can get our hands on. Honestly, as I write this I am realizing how lucky I am that these are the current fashion trends as I just had a baby and to put it nicely “sweatpants are all that fit me right now.” So to all the Mamas just trying to make it through to the next hour, at least we can find comfort (literally) in the fact that 2020 fashion trends are here for us LOL!

Here are a few of my all-time favs of the year and how I like to style them. Let’s use the word style loosely . . . I mainly have a baby (or two) attached to me at all times so that counts as an accessory right?

Both babes were asleep at the same time for around two and half minutes here so I thought it was a must to try and document one of my favourite go-to 2020 / all the time looks. An S&T romper and a headband from one of my favourite local shops. T…

Both babes were asleep at the same time for around two and half minutes here so I thought it was a must to try and document one of my favourite go-to 2020 / all the time looks. An S&T romper and a headband from one of my favourite local shops. This look is easy and mostly presentable to the public, even with a “mom bun”.

Also easy to feed the baby when he wakes up, two seconds into trying to snap a pic for this so that’s a mom win if I have ever seen one. I should also mention S&T rompers are seriously a life saver for breastfeeding mamas, especially in the earl…

This tie-dye set is seriously a dream and one of my favourite casual looks. Honestly, I accessorized it zero percent cause my children were running wild / the baby was chatty in the swing beside me and I was busy looking at his cute little face. But…

This tie-dye set is seriously a dream and one of my favourite casual looks. Honestly, I accessorized it zero percent cause my children were running wild / the baby was chatty in the swing beside me and I was busy looking at his cute little face. But all jokes aside, matching sets are my favourite thing to wear always right now. Throw on some fresh sneaks with this and you are good to go anywhere these days! (Please excuse the horrific mirror photos & appalling background, but I have a newborn so this was the best I could do that day haha.)

This heart set is definitely more of a “lounge around the house” look, which again I have done nothing to jazz it up. However, it is cute and cozy all on its own and great for those lazy weekend days - or weekday days since every day since March has…

This heart set is definitely more of a “lounge around the house” look, which again I have done nothing to jazz it up. However, it is cute and cozy all on its own and great for those lazy weekend days - or weekday days since every day since March has blurred together (or is that only me?). If you don’t have some matching sets in your life you need to start investing. Especially, knock on wood this doesn’t happen, but if there is a second wave of the pandemic you need to be comfy cute honey!

Another S&T romper (this is coming in a long version for fall to my little shop, so just switch out the shorts for the pants and voila a fall look). I think Leopard makes every outfit fancier, just add some white sneakers, a cute tee underneath …

This is also another easy mom look. If you are chasing around a toddler please trust me when I say this (over and over again) get yourself some rompers. They are Canadian made, female owned and operated and you’ll absolutely be thanking me so . . . …

The first time going out in 2020 somewhere fancy, aka the spa, I wore another romper (huge shocker). This time I put on one of my favourite cozy sweaters and felt I looked slightly more presentable. What do you think? Anyways, now that I have talked about rompers for a really long time I realize that i have another blog post coming at you on styling your rompers, so I probably should stop for now. But for real, I promise to show you some of these comfy little things in actual wearable ways for work (or zoom calls), dates, socially distanced hangouts, etc . . . so stay tuned for that . . .

Clearly I have proven here to be no expert at styling any of this, but I think the most important thing to remember is to always style your favourite loungewear pieces with is a glass of wine at the end of the day . . .

Cheers babes!

xo.
