Back to School
I cannot even believe I am writing this and have a baby old enough to be going to school but here we are! Beau is starting Junior Kindergarten and he is beyond excited. Me on the other hand might have a nervous breakdown, what the heck am I going to do without him five days a week? Well maybe when I put it that way, a lot . . . LOL just kidding! He has been so excited to pick out everything for school and what he is going to need to be successful for this year and it is so fun to see. I thought the people might like to see what we have grabbed to help him kick off his public school career so here is our curated list of back to school must-haves for JKers!
BEAU’S SCHOOL STUFF :
Backpack | duh. We picked up one at Target when we were in the states and it is a shark and he is pretty much over the top pumped that he is going to have a backpack no one else will have #trendsetter. Don’t have a link for this one, but you can see how cute he is in with it in my latest reel!
Lunch Box | This was trickier to find than I thought. Firstly, I ordered a few that were just not big enough. Not sure if it is only my child but he eats SO much so I am pretty concerned about making sure he has enough food to make it through the day. That aside I did not like anything I had found. I was in Walmart (shame, I know) with Beau and he loved a Spiderman one we saw and it happened to be a great size so here we are. A very tacky Spiderman lunch bag that makes my little buddy super happy. Cannot seem to find the exact link but we found it in Bracebridge and it is like this boring one HERE & $12.
Pencil Case | I’m not entirely sure what JK kids need in a pencil case / if they need them at all but we just got a super basic black one that was easy to open. I’ve stocked it with a glue stick, washable markers, a few pencils & an eraser. I feel this is likely not necessary but best to be prepared.
Water Bottle | found this one at our local independant grocer along with all the lunch box containers we will be using. Check your local PC product supplier, there was so many great things for back to school!
Labels | It is essential to label any and all of your little’s belongings (if you ever want to see them again) and I found the cutest personalized labels online (I am sure lots of you have heard of them!) We were able to add a shark icon to match his backpack along with his name which seemed very essential.
Indoor & Outdoor shoes | Beau picked out his own shoes so we grabbed a pair of runners for outside (reebok) and then the updated dinosaur converse that he NEEDED to have! He is so proud of himself being able to “easily” put both pairs on and off so he is good to go lol! We have not gotten new winter things yet but I know we really should be on the hunt for that ASAP.
Wardrobe | It is likely no surprise that back to school fashion does mean something to me and I cannot lie I absolutely love shopping for my kids clothing. We have stocked up on some great basic tees and sweaters but I also have had so much fun sourcing things at smaller shops. If you follow me on instagram you know I have an obsession with December Sun, the most adorable shop located in Orillia. They had some of the sweetest things for back to school including the cutest t-shirt for Beau’s first day from Dear Aspen. Run and check them out if you have not already done so!
We will also definitely be hitting up Costco this week to stock up on snacks (I will share any good finds on insta y’all) but I am already so concerned about having to make lunches for the rest of my life. Who knew adulthood was basically having to worry about any and all mealtimes for the rest of forever. Is it just me who dreads this? I cannot be alone! Oh, also, in his backpack there will be a ziplocked and labelled bag of extra clothes, undies and socks for any mishaps that should occur.
