Boy Rooms
Oddly enough a large number of you (at least 6 LOL) have asked me about how I decorated both the boy’s nurseries. Of course before I found out I was pregnant with boy numero uno (Beau) I had a perfectly conceived idea of what a little girls’s nursery would look like. That vision, of course, was useless and I truly did not know where to start when it came to decorating for a baby boy. (Chris thought sparkles and florals were a little much for his son, ridiculous I know). However, once I started down the pinterest rabbit hole I was able to frame out some ideas I liked and started to LOVE creating a boy nursery. For Watson’s room it was no different, I had a general idea and then just let it come to life. In the end I have to say I love how both of their nurseries turned out and really truly enjoyed creating these special spaces for my little men.
Beau’s Room
At the time of creating Beau’s room we were renting the house we lived in and if we were to paint the walls we would have to paint them back when we left. That made the decision to not paint them a colour pretty easy. The room was already white so I made Chris repaint it white because I am insane, and felt the baby deserved a fresh coat of paint. That isn’t that crazy is it? I wanted something that felt inviting but still modern for the room. Something that wasn’t too in your face “boy” but still had masculine touches for our sweet babe. I loved his name sign that I had one of my lovely friend’s create for us. His carpet was a great find from Home Depot, I know, who would have thought? It is legit the softest rug ever and still is in amazing condition over two years later. The chair is actually an Ikea chair that my sister-in-laws had a custom rocker put on (there is a man who makes rockers for a bunch of Ikea chairs, really a genius idea if you ask me!). Anyways the entire room didn’t really have a theme but it came together perfectly and it was a place I loved to just go and sit in with the baby. It really was nothing fancy but it felt just right for our boy - - - >
Watson’s Room
Again for this room I really didn’t have a “theme” in mind but it did turn into a bit of an exotic animal farm with all of the different animals I ended up purchasing. It started with a giant llama, which I do not regret for one second. Then a monogrammed hippo rocker, and a bulldog statue. It goes on. Again, no regrets. The forest green accent wall was my plan for a boy or a girl and it is still one of my favourite parts of his room, it brings it all to life I think. This was one of my favourite room’s to create in our new house and still is such a peaceful place to walk into - - - >
