Muskoka Babe Style Clinic
Seeing something you’ve created come to fruition and be enjoyed by other people is something that truly gives me purpose. This past weekend I had the privilege to unveil my first ever style clinic to several groups of women, many of whom I have the honour to call not only clients but friends. This event was set to happen this past April but, of course, the lockdown and Covid completely derailed our big plans. The event in April would have been done as one big group, with a bartender, a stylist, yummy snacks and so much more. BUT with the pandemic we had to pivot. We had to change. And I’m elated (and relieved) to report that the way this event transformed was better than I imagined.
Despite the many challenges and the fact we had to do part of the event virtually and the other part in smaller groups, I truly could not be more thrilled with the day. The best part was being able to connect with each and every amazing woman that stuck this out with me. The babes that were so supportive and so beyond flexible as we navigated this all together. A global pandemic may have shifted the way we have to interact but it truly was so special seeing this finally come to life.
I had no idea how I was going to feel hosting an event during Covid but I am so happy that I did! Everyone was respectful, safe and of course in great health. Instead of a lipstick bar (as originally planned) we had an eye shadow bar, which I have to say was SO fun. It was all about the smizing and I loved every second of it!
There was a denim fit clinic and of course lots of other shopping to be done throughout the event time slots. I made sure there was exclusive deals just for the style clinic as well as exclusive pieces that hadn’t hit the floor yet and let’s just say, it was a HIT!
Although much of the original event day things were shifted to virtual/ at home (the stylist made a video for us instead of coming, our bartender created drinks instead of being present, we had Muskoka Brewery treat the girls to some beverages, etc etc etc). It was so fun to still have an “Instagram wall” to capture some cute moments with all my gal pals! Who doesn’t love a good photo op, am I right?
Oh did I mention there was a braid bar? There was and it was so fun! If you know me well you know how much I love a good gangsta braid and that is that!
To say I’m pleased with how this event turned out, despite the rollercoaster it took to get here in 2020, does not even begin to cover my emotions. I hope you enjoyed this small glimpse into the day of the style clinic. I look forward to sharing so many more event days like this with so many more Muskoka babes. No matter what we are faced with in the coming weeks, months and even years I truly believe we will always find a way to connect and thrive together.
