Beau turns 3!

I know what you are all thinking . . . I am way too young to have a three year old but the rumours are true, my baby boy, my first little buddy, is three. Honestly it feels like he has always been here while at the same time it feels impossible that he is already three years old. Time is a funny thing isn’t it? Half the time we cannot wait for what is next. The next phase, the next trip, the next day, the next week, the next whatever. While on the other hand we wish we could pause moments so badly. As a mother I feel like I have never been more tortured by time. I love watching them grow and learn and I don’t mind that they get more independent as they grow up, while at the same time one of the boys will look at me and smile and I wish so badly I could sit in that second forever. Thinking about the day Beau was born feels like it was yesterday. Every single detail of that day is ingrained in my memory for better or worse. I tear up just thinking about it. It was the worst and the best day of my life all wrapped up in one. Before I end up getting carried away on a boat of emotions, here is how we celebrated our dinosaur loving, sweet, hilarious, stubborn, magical, three year old during his second lockdown birthday (out of 3 in his life, not a great record but we have high hopes that future birthdays will be spent with all our family and friends!)

Basically this birthday we realized he didn’t need anything. He didn’t need any big toys or new gadgets. What he needed, what we all needed, was a day just for Beau. A day Beau could do anything he wanted. A three year old can be a complex being but in the realm of what he loves to do, he is just happy doing anything with his favourite people (which thankfully still happens to be us). His day of celebrations was filled with cake, ice cream, chippies (chips), carrots, the park, playing football, playing soccer, making anything and everything out of playdoh, and of course all things dinosaurs! From the dinosaur birthday banner, to the T-rex balloons and of course the insanely gorgeous dinosaur cake he was in absolute dino heaven. Here is a little look behind the scenes of all the cute details of the celebrations. (I will tag all the lovely vendors at the end too of course!)

On a side note the photos below were ones I wasn’t going to post because of my double chin. You read that right . . . I was not going to post photos with my beautiful son on his birthday because I was looking at my chin. Absolute insanity, I know. Beau loved taking these photos with me. He thought it was hilarious that my shirt had his name on it, and he kept asking to kiss me, so DUH, I’m sharing these photos. I love him more every minute.

Post the photo and enjoy these magical moments with your babies. I can promise they will never remember your chin(s) but they will remember how special you made them feel.

Happy Birthday Beau, I love you.
