Skincare Must Haves

Right off the bat I need to make it clear I have absolutely no business giving any type of skin care advice BUT I have been experimenting with some new brands and products and have found some that I finally really love. I do not say love lightly either so you are probably going to want to listen up . . . For starters my skin has always been a source of stress for me. It is extremely sensitive and temperamental to say the least. When I was a teenager my acne was on another level (and was a serious source of psychological torture, but we will save that for another time. High school, good times am I right?). Anyways . . . I am always on the hunt for what will be best for my skin, mainly what will not upset it. For years I have been scared to branch out or switch it up but lately my skin has been looking dull and I knew I needed to do something about it. I think the lack of winter vacation has really taken a toll on my skin and also probably the fact that I am almost 31 (take that in for a second . . . rough I know). I put out a question box on instagram and honestly I got some amazing advice and responses. So here is what I have been trying and loving for almost two months now!

  1. The Ordinary - Firstly these products are insanely cheap? Which at first really had me questioning them but people were swearing by them so I figured let’s give it a go! And WOW, huge fan. The “Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%” is for acne and holy crap my redness and everything has virtually disappeared. I don’t necessarily have a huge acne “problem” anymore but it is still something that can be an issue for me from time to time and this has been a life saver. Linking here because you need to check these out (if you haven’t already, I think I might have been living under a rock on these ones). The Ordinary

  2. Drunk Elephant - This was highly recommended but I was warned about the price tag. It was an investment but oh my goodness I am obsessed. I have noticed a visible difference using this product, like the fact I haven’t slept in three years is actually starting to show less (I think it is at least, unless I am just imagining it, which is possible. . . ) ANYWAYS I am absolutely loving the intense hydration serum for my sad, sunless, dry, winter skin AND the “A-Passioni™ Retinol Cream” for my old lady skin. For real I can see a major difference with the lines on my certain areas of my face and that is enough for me! Again linking here because you need to check it out. Thank me when you start aging backwards (but also don’t blame me if you don’t because I know nothing, k cool.) Drunk Elephant

  3. K’Pure - I have said it before and I will say it again I have been blown away by these products (and not just because I sell them). The “Clean Slate” makeup removing cleanser is honestly the best makeup removing oil I have ever put on my skin, EVER! I find it so important for the health of my skin that I ensure my makeup is fully removed (yes I know this is common sense but that doesn’t mean we all have it LOL). It is so light and gentle on my skin, I just love it. I have been using (and loving) a lot of products off and on from K’pure for a while now. I pop them in and out of my routine (masks, skin scrubs, those kind of goodies) but I have just added in the “Eyes Up” caffeinated eye serum to my regular routine and I HIGHLY recommend. If you have puffy, tired, eyes (ie, if you get a solid two hours a sleep a night like I do) you need to try it. Linking now - - - > K'Pure

I have a few other things in the tester pile and really am finding a good skincare groove so I will keep y’all posted on how this goes . . . if you care . . . or if you don’t, because that is just what I am here for. Hit me up on the gram with your other must haves for sensitive skin. Have a great week you beautiful humans!
